Elle Tremor
My media for this artwork was tissue paper, colored pencils, pencils and watercolors. I first began by drawing my face and shading it with pencil. I decided to only color my eyes my hair and my lips because I thought that it make the picture unique. Next I made a watercolor background. I used salt to give it some texture. After I was done with that I made two different colored pointe shoes. I made pointe shoes because one of my main goals this year is to get onto pointe in ballet. The reason why I made one pink and one black is because there are two sides to pointe, the ballet side (pink) and the contemporary (black), I want to dance both styles.
My process had a lot of steps but I think it was pretty easy. FIrst I colored and shaded my face. Then I colored the desired parts of my face. Then I used mach poch to stick my face onto a piece of paper that I watercolored. The way I watercolored the paper was by putting the desired colors on and then before it dried I put salt to give it texture. Once that dried with my face on it I started my pointe shoes. For the pink shoe I cut out a piece of paper to look like a pointe shoe and then I colored it pink then I put pink tissue paper on top of that. Then I mod podged that onto the pick of paper then I went to the black one. To make the black one I took black tissue paper and mod podged it on to the cutout that I made, then I glued it on to my paper.
I think that this artwork was successful because I used many different things to make texture and pattern. I also think that it was also successful because the art is unique. This artwork shows my personality a lot. I am a dancer and I like to be different.
